All volunteers and instructors must take the Canadian Association of Coaches (CAC) SafeSport Training. This is required so that we, as a National organization, can demonstrate that we practising due diligence in the protection of the athletes that are being entrusted to our care.
This is a National requirement this season, and we currently do not meet this requirement as a club. We urge you, if you have not already, to complete this before the start of the scheduled program. This will take you about 90 minutes to complete.
Process
- Go to the Coach.ca SafeSport Training page. There is a link to this site on the “Information & External Links” menu on the sidebar of the Home page.
- Select the “Take training in the Locker” button. If you already have a Locker account, you will be asked to log in, if not you will be walked through the process to create one.
- Complete the training then go to your Snowline profile and update your information. Your NCCP number will be used to verify that you have completed the training.
If you have any difficulty in completing this process (there have been occasions when people have encountered difficulty), please contact Miranda Newton cadspakenhamcoordinator@gmail.com or Al McLarty training@cads-pakenham.org.
I am assuming if you have completed this training, one does not have to repeat it.
Yes, that is correct. CADS only requires that you complete this once.
